The Venue

The Small Space is a unique venue. Tucked away on a side-street in Barry South Wales, in a converted Victorian one up one down, the venue was formerly a giftshop, bookshop, printers, florist, tobacconist and home to a one-armed barber. These days it’s home to a variety of performance arts and is testament to what can be achieved in an amazing space.

“Great drinks. Great show. Very funny. Highly recommend. Will be coming again. This was a great night out. It makes for a very social evening.”

Measuring just 16 feet at its longest and 12 feet at its widest, the downstairs manages to squeeze in a 25-seat raked theatre auditorium, while upstairs you’ll find a fully licensed bar with seating and the W.C. This diminutive size makes it officially the Smallest Theatre in the UK, and the Smallest Magic Theatre in the World.

Arriving at The Small Space

Guests are asked to arrive in good time ahead of the performance. You’ll need to ring the doorbell for admittance, where you will be greeted and welcomed to the venue.

Please note: Latecomers will not be admitted once the performance begins. And as a fully licensed nightlife venue, only over 18s are admitted to public shows. While photography and sharing on social media are encouraged, the videoing of performances is prohibited.

Accessibility

Please note that while the venue is suitable for wheelchair access, the W.C. is up a flight of steep stairs. We try to be as flexible and helpful as possible, so please contact us to discuss your requirements.
